Walk-in Closet

The corridor: panelled wardrobes on one side, the counter run on the other.

The panels are Shinnoki by Decospan, a white oak veneer that comes brushed, stained and lacquered, so it needs no further finishing. The solid oak mouldings and pulls were stained to match, so the frames, doors and drawer fronts read as one timber.

Shelves, rails and runners

The shelves are free-hanging, and no bracket shows under any of them. The rails are slim and black, hung under the top shelves and under the counter. Drawers run on Blum runners, and each drawer front has a small solid oak pull.

Two runs face each other across a pale oak floor, daylight at the window end.

Joints and light

Face frames are mitred around each bay, and the plinth is recessed. The counter front is thicker than the veneer on top, reading as a solid oak lipping. Pigeonhole dividers are half-lapped into the shelves. LED ribbons sit in slots above the counter and behind a lip under the bottom shelf. They wash the oak, and the light fittings stay out of sight.

Storage runs down both sides of the corridor, and daylight comes in at the window end.
